Context
CARRE was a research project on personalized patient empowerment and shared decision making for cardiorenal disease and comorbidities. I contributed at Democritus University of Thrace from 2014 to 2016.
My contribution
My work covered the Risk Data Entry System V2, development of the Educational Resources Ontology, and the Educational Data Aggregator. These contributions combined application development with the representation and aggregation of healthcare educational information.
Implementation
The technology record includes HTML5, NodeJS, AngularJS, and MongoDB, with Docker and Dokku for application infrastructure. Linked-data work used Virtuoso RDF server, SPARQL, OWL, and the Bioportal API. The development toolchain also included GruntJS, Gulp, and Jasmine.
Deliverables and evidence
I contributed to project deliverables D3.4, D4.2, D7.2, and D7.3. The related publication, "Aggregating Educational Data for Patient Empowerment," was coauthored with G. Drosatos and E. Kaldoudi for ELEVIT 2015.
What this work demonstrates
This work connects healthcare informatics, semantic technologies, and practical application development. It provides experience in structuring domain information and building the software used to enter and aggregate it.
