Wearable systems and integration research

Research participation spanning wearable sensor networks, DVT risk-estimation tasks, and system integration. My recorded involvement includes lower-limb activity sensing, wearable integration and signal quality, as well as central intelligence software, communications, security, and privacy. These describe my participation in the research programme, without implying clinical validation.

Context

ThrombUS+ is a research project investigating a wearable system for continuous monitoring, risk prediction, and immediate alerts for deep vein thrombosis at the point of care. This describes the project's research aim, not an established clinical result. My participation is recorded as beginning in 2024.

My contribution

My recorded participation spans three work packages: the wearable sensor network, automated DVT risk estimation and detection and prevention, and integration and validation. The scope below identifies task involvement rather than claiming sole ownership or completion of every task.

Wearable systems

Wearable-system tasks cover a lower-limb activity sensor network, wearable development and sensor integration, and testing with signal-quality and performance enhancements. These are tasks T4.3, T4.4, and T4.5.

Risk estimation and interaction

Tasks T5.1 through T5.5 cover DVT detection using wearable ultrasound, impedance and light plethysmography, personalized risk estimation using patient profile and activity, a serious game for risk prevention, and extended-reality operator or user guidance.

Integration

My recorded involvement also includes T6.4, software integration and development of a central intelligence module and app, and T6.5, hardware and software integration, communications, security, and privacy.

What this work demonstrates

The recorded contribution spans wearable systems, risk-estimation research, and software integration. The common thread is participation across the interfaces between sensing, application software, and the broader research system.
